Your voice and your input is important! If you are interested in becoming a part of one or more of the listed committees, please reach out to Caitlin Walker, VP of the Monson Teachers Association. (caitlinanorton@msn.com; Monson High School).
Negotiation Committee
We are looking for representation from all units covered under the Monson Teachers Association to offer input as we head into a contract bargaining year. As a member of the Negotiation Committee, you will be part of the important conversation surrounding our needs as a Union.
Bylaws/Constitution Committee
Our constitution/bylaws was last updated in 2008. It is important that we reflect on our constitution and revise according to our evolved and changed needs over the years. As a member of the Bylaws/Constitution Committee, you will contribute to the reflection, discussion, and revision of this incredibly important Union document.
Social Committee
The most effective and strongest Union is one in which we are united. One of the biggest challenges across the state is creating an infrastructure that fosters unity and togetherness. As a member of the Social Committee, you will help plan social events throughout the year including the Friends of Education dinner.
Grievance Committee
We believe it is important that all Union units and people of all races, classes, ages, sexes, and ethnicities are represented in difficult matters around the district. It is our hope to build a grievance committee that offers representation for all people and educators in order to support all educators through these challenges. As a member of the Grievance Committee, you will help direct requested grievances to the appropriate board members and contribute to the resolution of any issue brought forth.
